In addition to a positive, team work-environment, we understand the needs of our staff. We offer our associates a wide variety of incentives and benefits to help provide a better quality of life for them and their families. We have listed below a guide to the many advantages we are able to offer.

All part-time regular and full-time associates have 30 days from their date of hire or qualifying event to enroll in JPMC benefit plans.

Health Insurance

 Is a comprehensive Medical HMO plan. Employees have the option to choose between a HMO Domestic Network and a Standard Network. Employees have the option to carry either a single, employee plus spouse, employee and child, or family plan. PCP office co-pays are $30. Specialist office co-pays are $40. The health plan includes options for prescriptions which are based on a tier level with no deductible. In addition, the monthly associate premiums are deducted pre-tax from the employee's paycheck.

Dental Insurance

Is offered through Delta Dental with a choice orf two plan options.The Low Option plan provides preventative coverage with no deductible or co-pay twice annually when using a PPO contracted Dentist. The High Option plan provides Orthodontia coverage.

Long Term Disability

Is provided to all full-time employees. The cost if paid by JPMC at no cost to the employee.

Life Insurance

All full-time and part-time regular associates are eligible for Term Life & AD&D insurance coverage in the amount of 1.5 times the associate's base annual earnings at no cost to the associate. Additional Supplemental Term Life Insurance (up to six times the associate's base annual salary) and Dependent Life Insurance, which covers up to $30,000 for a spouse and up to $15,000 for each dependent child are also available at the employee's expense.

Vision Plan

Insurance is offered through EyeMed, which offersdiscounts on Eye Exams, frames, Lens Options, contactlenses, and Laser vision correction. Through the EyeMednetwork, you have access to the market-leading retail opticallocations as well as thousands of private practitioners.

Flexible Spending Plan

Full-time and part-time regular associates may choose to participate in the pre-tax flexible spending account for medical health care and dependent care daycare expenses.

Retirement Plan

  • Non-Profit Associates hired before 1/1/2006—are eligible for a monthly retirement income which is based on the number of years of credited service, final average earnings, and covered compensation. This Defined Benefit Plan is fully funded by the Employer. Requires 5 years of vesting service.
  • Non-Profit Associates hired on or after 1/1/2006—are provided a Vanguard Defined Contribution Plan, fully funded by the Employer. Annual contributions to the Plan are based on years of service. Requires 5 years of vesting service.
  • For-Profit Associates—are provided a 401 (k) Safe harbor Plan.  The Company contributes 3% of the associate’s gross payroll. Associates are also allowed to contribute to this 401 (k) Plan, and they are always fully vested.

JPMC 403(b) Plan

Effective upon employment, all non-profit associates are eligible to participate in a tax-deferred annuity program through ING Financial Services.

Associate Assistance Program

Effective upon employment, confidential counseling and referral service is open to all associates, and the service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Workers Compensation

Effective upon employment, all associates have medical and income protection for on-the-job illness/injury.

Leave Of Absence

After one year of employment, full-time and part-time regular associates are eligible for a leave of absence. A leave of absence may be granted for family, medical, educational, military, or personal reasons.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

Effective following 90 days of employment, full-time and part-time regular associates are eligible for paid time off for vacation, holiday, personal, and short-term sick leave hours which accrue in the associate's account according to the number of years of service and the number of hours worked per pay period.

Wellness Connection

Effective immediately upon employment, full-time and part-time regular associates are eligible to join the Wellness Connection, JPMC's state-of-the-art fitness facility. There are reduced rates for employees on the membership fee and monthly dues. In addition, associates who utilize the facility at least 8 are eligible to have their membership fee and monthly dues refunded on a monthly basis.

Extended Illness Bank

Effective following 90 days of employment, full-time and part-time regular associates are eligible to receive paid time off for hospitalization or extended illness. Hours are accrued according to the number of hours worked per pay period.

Employee Health Services

Effective upon employment, all employees are eligible for health screenings, counseling, and vaccinations provided by the Employee Health Nurse.

Holiday Pay

Effective upon employment, associates will receive time and one-half pay for hours that are worked (based on wage and overtime guidelines) on seven recognized legal holidays.

Funeral Leave

Effective following 90 days of employment, full-time and part-time regular associates are eligible for funeral leave. Associates may receive up to a total of 24 hours, or three 8-hour days, paid in the event of the death of an immediate member of the associate's family.

Payroll Deduction

Effective 90 days after employment, full-time and part-time regular associates may authorize payroll deduction for purchases in central stores, gift shop, prescriptions, special promotional sales, and United Way contributions. These deductions cannot be for less than $10 and will be taken from one paycheck unless specifically noted otherwise.

Food Services Discount

Effective upon employment, all associates are eligible for a 30% discount in the cafeteria.

Pharmacy Discount

Effective following 90 days of employment, all associates are eligible to purchase prescriptions from the JPMC Pharmacy for $5 above cost.

Direct Banking Deposit

Effective upon employment, all associates may authorize their payroll check to be directly deposited into their personal savings or checking account. Instead of a check, associates will receive a non-negotiable payroll voucher displaying their earnings and other payment information.

Tuition Reimbursement

After one year of employment for full-time associates, and 18 months for part-time regular associates, those eligible may participate in the tuition reimbursement program. Full-time associates are eligible to receive up to $2,500 per year for tuition along with up to $250 for books. Part-time associates are eligible to receive up to $1,000 per year for tuition along with up to $250 per year for books.

Orientation & In-Service Training

All associates attend an orientation training of mandatory safety in-services, presentations on professional and community relations, problem solving, Human Resources policies, Telephone Device for the Deaf (TDD), and risk management. The Medical Center's mission and values statements and strategic plan goals are also presented. In addition, various in-service programs are offered throughout the year.

Service Recognition Awards Program

Full-time and regular part-time associates with at least five years of service, and every five years thereafter, are recognized and receive an award at the annual Service Awards Banquet.

Recreational Activities

All associates are invited to participate in Medical Center sponsored activities. These include, but are not limited to the following: Children's Christmas party, picnics, and discounts to area attractions.
